Introduction

Why did I choose to give out a free service like this?

I have a printed legacy which I made for myself on the wall next to my computer which reminds me every single day of the purpose I work, the purpose I live and what I want people to remember my by. It indeed has helped my in setting my priorities right.

There are times in life we work so hard and do the things which are important to us that we forget the people around us. The people that will carry on our legacy. We work so hard to give what we thought is best for the people we care about that we fail see what we thought is the best keeps us from giving what is truly meaningful and important.

So if this simple printed legacy can remind me of what are important in my life, imagine the impact it can have on the community or even on earth if more people is reminded in the same way as I was. It could give a sense of purpose and meaning once again to our lives.

It’s hard when you lose someone. It’s even harder when it is a loved one. We reminisce of the times spent together. We remember the footprint that was left by them on our lives. An inspiration, a hope, a dream, memories.

We are all but pilgrims on this earth. Nothing physical on this earth last forever but the legacy we leave behind will. This legacy does not refer to the gift, money, property or bequest that’s given to you according to a will but rather it refers to the lasting testimony that’s left by those departed.

Thomas Jefferson strived towards creating the freest society in the world.

Andrew Carnegie battled poverty and corruption, built a empires that became beacon of hope to the world.

Tunku Abdul Rahman, was known as the Father of Independence in Malaysia.

Christopher Reeves displayed courage on and off screen.

Mother Theresa served the people.

Some of them may not be here now but their lives have left an impression on our hearts that inspires us to strive towards a higher purpose, to be a better person, to do greater things. What then will you be remembered for?

Before you continue on with “leave a legacy”, take some time to answer this questions:

What on earth am I here for?
What are the motivators for your life? What drives you?
What kind of legacy do I want to leave behind?
